Taking the Long Arm Rental Course prepares you to rent the long arm machines at Log Cabin Sewing Company. We teach how to use the zipper system which is used to attach the material to the machine. During the course, you will learn how to pin your quilt on the zippers, set up the machine for sewing, how to use the pantographs, and minor trouble shooting. You must have this course to rent the long arm machines.
We will sew on comfort quilts, but you will pin your quilt onto the zipper leads. Zippers are included in the class, but often quilters find they would like a second pair.
You will also need #3 safety pins, about 200 of them. We sell a box of them with the pins and it holds your zippers as well for $21, but get 15% off if you buy them at the same time as the course.
Class minimum is 2, max is 4.
If you don't have a quilt top in the suggested size, any size is ok. But plan to bring the first quilt you want to quilt during your rental time. We will be prepping that quilt during this class.
