Have you wanted to do a Cathedral Window quilt block but hate hand sewing? The modern way to do it doesn't have hand sewing! We will lead you through making the Cathedral Window Block during this class.
The list of materials are enough to use your pieces to make a beautiful throw pillow! You most likely will not get the throw pillow done in class; we are going to focus on the technique. But you'll have a great start!
Materials:
(108) - 4" squares of background fabric (Mine is the white tonal fabric)
(13) - 4.5" squares for window center (Mine is batik fabrics from a 5" x 5" charm pack)
(4) - 4.75" squares cut diagonal for the edges (from the same fabric as the window center)
(1) - 5" square cut diagonally twice for the corners (from the same fabric as the window center)
(2) - 15.5" x 21.5" pieces to overlap for back of pillow envelope (you probably will want the same as your background fabric)
Please come to class with your fabric cut and be ready to sew right away!
You will also need:
Sewing machine in good working order
Thread that matches your background fabric
Scissors
Pins (Long, thin quilting pins work great)
Things I found helpful:
Sulky 2000 temporary adhesive spray (We have it here!)
Sewing Awl or Stilletto
Small Iron and Wool Mat to iron at your station
We hope to see you!
